Roethlisberger allegations will not be investigated

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not have to worry about any possible criminal charges stemming from allegations that he raped a woman.

The Las Vegas Police said that they will not be opening a criminal investigation about the allegations.

However, the quarterback is still on the hook in a civil law suit that names him as one of nine defendants.

A guilty verdict could cost the quarterback a lot of money and may mean a suspension coming down from the NFL.

Roethlisberger accused of rape

The woman is bringing a civil suit against Roethlisberger and eight other men for their roles in the alleged incident.

The quarterback’s lawyer said that Roethlisberger did nothing wrong and has never done anything like this in the past.

Roethlisberger looking to leave legacy

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger already has two Super Bowl rings at a young age, giving him the chance to really leave a legacy.

Roethlisberger plays for the same city that Terry Bradshaw lead to championships and Super Bowls.

While the quarterback’s popularity hasn’t reached Bradshaw’s level yet, he isn’t too far behind.

His toughness and knack for making the big play at the critical moment have endeared him to the city and could lead to more Super Bowl victories.

Steelers sale is complete

The complicated sale of the Pittsburgh Steelers from the four Rooney brothers to Dan Rooney and his son, Art Rooney II.

Dan and Art now control 30 percent of the team shares, which is a requirement of owners in the NFL.

The two will be taking on about $250 million in debt due to the sale, and their shares will be used as collateral with PNC Bank.

Previously, each of the Rooney’s owned about 16 percent of the team. However, there was some concern that all of them were not on the same page as far as what was best for the franchise moving forward.

Steelers fans happy about Mason retirement

It’s been quite a year for Pittsburgh fans after watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl and the Penguins take the Stanley Cup.

Now they have some more news to rejoice about after learning that Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason is retiring.

Mason is by far the best receiver the Ravens have and leave them without a legitimate playmaker.

It will certainly make Pittsburgh’s path to the AFC North title and possibly Super Bowl that much easier.

Steelers looking for balanced run attack

The Pittsburgh Steelers never really got their running game where they wanted it last season.

Heading into 2009, the team is hopeful that its top two running backs will take the offense to another level now that they are healthy.

The Steelers exceeded expecations with their passing game last year, so who knows how potent they could become with a balanced attack.

Willie Parker finally got going at the end of last season and the team has high hopes for Rashard Mendenhall.

Holmes looking for breakout season

Coming off of the game-winning Super Bowl catch, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes is looking for a breakout season.

It’s a play that Holmes and the rest of Steelers nation will certainly never forget regardless of how well the rest of his career pans out.

Nonetheless, Holmes doesn’t want to settle for just being a guy who made a great play in a big game.

He is looking to build momentum into what he hopes will be a career year following an unbelievable catch.
