Steelers pound Panthers, 27-3

The Pittsburgh Steelers kept control of the AFC North race with a 27-3 beating of the helpless Carolina Panthers.

The Steelers held the Panthers scoreless until giving up a field goal midway through the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger lead the offensive attack with 310 yards passing and a touchdown. He also ran for another score.

Running back Rashard Mendenhall didn’t run wild like expected, but he still finished with 65 yards on the ground and a touchdown. (Read More…)

Steelers roll past Bengals, 23-7

The host Pittsburgh Steelers overcame a sluggish start to roll past the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-7.

The Steelers got off to a rough start, giving up a touchdown drive to open up the game and then struggling on offense.

It looked like the team might have a hangover from last week’s game, but the defense came to the rescue.

Safety Troy Polamalu picked off a Carson Palmer pass and returned it for a touchdown, and Lamarr Woodley did the same later in the game. (Read More…)

Steelers rally past Ravens, 13-10

The Pittsburgh Steelers took advantage of a big turnovers to rally past the Baltimore Ravens, 13-10.

Safety Troy Polamalu stripped Joe Flacco late in the fourth quarter and the Steelers recovered the fumble.

Just a few players later, the Steelers were in the end zone celebrating the game’s winning score.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger overcame a broken foot and then a broken nose to lead the Steelers to victory. (Read More…)

Steelers edge Bills, 19-16

The Pittsburgh Steelers used a major stroke of good luck to get past the Buffalo Bills in overtime, 19-16.

The Steelers, who lead 13-0 at one point in the second half, should have lost the game in overtime.

Buffalo wide receiver Stevie Johnson was wide open in the end zone, but he let a perfect pass slip right through his hands.

The Bills ultimately had to punt, and the Steelers eventually got the offense back on track behind Rashard Mendenhall. (Read More…)
